Our Certification Programs
All BDI Datalynk courses are approved by the Fiber Optic Association (FOA) and taught by FOA/BDI certified instructors.
BDI FiberOptiX Technician (CFOT)
Foundational Course
The CFOT is the starting point for all students. This course introduces the fundamentals of fiber optic networks and prepares participants to install, test, and troubleshoot basic systems. No prior experience required.
**This course is a required prerequisite for all specialist-level courses.
Specialist Certifications (CFOS)
Each of these advanced courses builds upon the CFOT to deepen your expertise:

CFOS/T – BDI FiberOptiX Testing & Maintenance Specialist
Learn to operate OLTS and OTDR equipment, simulating real-world testing challenges in single-mode networks. -
CFOS/S – BDI FiberOptiX Splicing Specialist
Master mechanical and fusion splicing through hands-on practice building your own fiber network. -
CFOS/H – BDI FiberOptiX FTTH Specialist
Specialize in the installation, testing, and maintenance of fiber-to-the-home systems (FFTH)—essential for last-mile broadband buildouts. -
CFOS/O – BDI FiberOptiX OSP Specialist
Focus on outside plant (OSP) cabling—from trench to terminal—with rigorous written and hands-on assessments.
